Writing a paper for a new class can be difficult. You may not know what to expect or how to mesh these new ideas with new authors together. For me, I thought I had a pretty good idea for my paper, which was a social life leads you to a happy life. Although, one writing moves that I can improve on in my paper is that I mention a topic but then I don’t go into much depth. When mentioning another topic to support my idea of being social leads to a happy life, Professor Pahigian mentioned that I should add in more critical thinking to help the reader get a better understanding. Another writing move that I can improve on is that for structure in my paper I approach the author in the sections I mentioned them but I didn’t create a layered approach or conversation between each of the authors throughout the paper. So for my next paper, I can start by having better paragraph transitions with a clear topic sentence or a claim and then think of which authors can support that claim that will allow me to branch my ideas in a more organized and supported path. Therefore, showing the deeper conversation in a more precise way which will also allow for better critical thinking like the other writing move that I can improve on in my paper. These two writing moves will allow my second paper in the class to be much better than the first.
