Over the course of ENG 110, we have learned how to draft an essay. Each essay that we have done allows us to be more comfortable with this drafting process. This drafting process has also helped me in writing papers for some of my other classes such as psychology and biology lab. One specific example that really helped me was drafting my thesis for one of my lab papers. In lab, we’ve had to write a few papers over the course of the semester and the drafting process has helped with each one. Drafting a thesis has always been difficult for me, because you want to use the right words in order to captivate your reader and have it set up for the rest of your paper. Throughout your paper you always want to connect what you’re writing back to your thesis. The thesis is really important. I used the drafting process of writing a thesis for was my species paper. The thesis was easy for my for this paper because I had to connect the paper back to my species, and I can captivate the reader with interesting things about my species. Knowing how to write my thesis for this paper due to the drafting process allowed me to start my paper off strong and finish with a lot more connections and support than I normally have in a paper. Learning how to write a good thesis from the drafting process will allow me to easily write thesis’s for other courses I take at UNE.
