Learning Outcome 5 & 6
In this essay, my ability to cite sources increased greatly. Professor Pahigian helped guide us when looking at our Little Seagull books on what articles were labeled. In my essay, you will see my works cited is formatted in the right MLA format. The citations are all in alphabetical order. The second and third lines are indented after the first line for each citation. When looking throughout my essay, you will see the authors name and a page number that matches the authors names in my works cited. I also made sure that the quotations came before the authors name and title then after came the period.
This Significant Writing Project also shows my ability to make local revisions and address typical errors. Before the final draft, during peer review, many of the comments I received were local comments on grammatical errors. I tend to have a lot to say and try to squeeze it all in without thinking about correct placement of grammar. With the help of my peers comments, I found where grammatical corrections were needed so my paper flowed better. I myself, now look at my paper and can see where I needed those corrections and why there should be a comma in a certain place. Over the semester, and especially for this paper my control for sentence-level errors has gotten much better. I can now carry this eye for grammatical errors on to future drafts of mine.
