Prepare for Transition

Prepare for Transition

As I look forward to graduation, licensure, and my first job as an RN I have mixed feelings and emotions. I mainly feel excitement and nervousness. I’m most excited about beginning my future career in a setting that I have chosen and look forward to pursuing. I’m still not 100% sure yet about the field of nursing but I know I will figure it out and I have a journey ahead of me. I’m also excited for the opportunity to grow my skills, learn more, and be out in the field. I don’t know how I will celebrate yet, but I know it will involve being surrounded by my family and taking a huge deep breathe with a sigh of relief. Most importantly I will be happy and proud of myself to be done school. I’m anxious about many things but completing school is something I’m most anxious about. I think that’s because change can be hard for me and so can a different routine. I like a routine that I’m used to and I’m anxious about changing that up and just change in general.

I will prepare and plan my weekly assignments, times to study, and additional things to do by making SMART goals. These goals are specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time bound. I will be specific each night and week on what I need to accomplish that is significant to the assignments I have, meaningful to get done, attainable in the time frame, reasonable to do, and timely. Some assignments will take longer than others so I will be sensible to that as well. I have done well each semester by staying organized and on top of my work. I will continue to do that but also make some changes using the SMART goals.

The ATI Nurse Logic 2.0 Modules will support my success on the ATI assessments and NCLEX-RN for many reasons. Each module outlined its own steps and tools to success for both the ATI assessments and NCLEX-RN. Some of the tools to success outlined were remembering to use the ABC format for answering questions, or Maslow’s Hierarchy, techniques on reading the questions slowly and cutting out distractions within them, seeing certain style of questions that will be used within both format of testing, and studying tips/tricks, along with prioritizing the clients concern, and much more. All of these tools to success and steps will help me practice and prepare for the ATI Assessments I’ll be taking and most importantly the NCLEX-RN.
