Prepare for Licensure (ATI Pharm Practice B)
After each pharmacology practice exam, I feel more confident that I have gained additional knowledge on this subject. I am only bettering myself in terms of mastering the material when I do more practice questions. I will continue to practice pharmacology questions because I know they can only help in the long run. Even though this is not my favorite subject to test on, it is important in nursing, so I need to be knowledgeable. I find it rewarding when I get some questions wrong that I do know the answers to but don’t pick up on the medication or the side effects when taking the exam. That’s a lesson to myself, and I know the repetitiveness means I won’t make the same mistake again. I want to do well on these exams but also, I give myself grace because I know pharmacology is a difficult subject. In future practice I will have the opportunity to contact pharmacy with questions and get their insight and knowledge. Although, I will also have a lot of knowledge myself.
For this exam, a lot of things went well. For example, I was more confident, took my time, and kept my mindset that I was taking the NCLEX. I also think what went well was my mindset that if I got something wrong whether I knew the information or didn’t, it’s only going to help me in the long run. I can always improve on the content and being more knowledgeable and confident, but I know this can all be improved on with more practice and time. Reflecting on my smart goals, I am specific in wanting to do well on pharmacology content, I am measurable in wanting to achieve more content and confidence prior to the NCLEX exam, my attainable goal is to master more content and confidence before the NCLEX, relevant because this content makes up a lot of nursing and is crucial to being successful, time bound because I am taking these exams by timing myself per question to get in the NCLEX test taking mindset. I think redoing these practice exams will help before the proctored Pharmacology exam. The more I practice, the more confident I will feel, and I know that will lead to my success.
