Prepare for Licensure (ATI Pharm Proctored)
I was pleasantly surprised with my performance on this Pharmacology Proctored ATI. Pharmacology is not a topic that I am very confident in, but I’ve done numerous practice problems and contribute that to my overall decent performance on this exam. I am very happy that I scored better than both my previous practice exams. I think that goes to show that the more practice truly does help solidify information as well as an overall performance. I will continue to do practice problems because I am determined in gaining more confidence and knowledge in this material. It is so profound and not going away in my nursing career, so it’s important I expand the foundation I already have. I think what went well, again, was the numerous practice problems that I’ve done but also accompanied with a bit of confidence during this exam. I learned that going into an exam with confidence and a positive attitude can help attribute to an overall good performance and I will carry this confidence with me for my future exams. I can still do better at mastering more pharmacology content, but I also recognize that some medications on this exam I truly had never heard of before. I don’t mind getting questions wrong with medications I don’t know about because they only add to my foundation of this material.
As I reflect on my SMART goals for this assessment, I reflect on my accomplishments of these goals each time I take an exam and prepare for the NCLEX. My SMART goals will help me get to my overall goal of passing the NCLEX exam. My SMART goals for this exam were, to be specific in gaining more confidence in knowledge after taking this proctored exam. My measurable goal was to do better than I did on my practice exams. The attainable goal was to answer each question with a time frame in mind as if I were answering timed NCLEX questions. My relevant goal was to apply this content and medication questions to my role as a nurse and in nursing school to help answer the questions. Lastly, I was time bound because I answered the questions within the allotted time frame but also felt like I wasn’t rushing. I felt like I spent enough, equal time on each question, and more or less if I had to. For this exam, I met my SMART goals. I will carry this experience going forward to my next assessment. I will do so by not letting my confidence down, going into the exam with a positive attitude, and ready to master my SMART goals. All the questions I answer are only betting myself and adding to my knowledge to help me achieve my main goal of passing the NCLEX.
