Preparation for Licensure (ATI Comp Predictor Practice A)

I think Comprehensive Practice Assessments like this are super helpful in bringing together all the content we’ve learned over the past few years. There is content reintroduced from previous semesters, new content, as well as current content that is fresh in our minds. I feel like receiving questions with content from past and current content really helps restore some of that memory that got stored away and bring it back forefront. Comprehensive practice assessments like this are helpful in giving myself an idea of where I stand content wise and what content I need to revisit to refresh on. I think these assessments are also helpful in confirming how much content I have truly solidified and mastered over the past few years. This really does show that the more practice, the more I learn. I should know more content that I previously learned but I know looking back and studying my old notes will help refreshen my mind. I can always improve on mastering more content.

As I reflect on this comprehensive exam and my SMART goals, I think about how I accomplished these goals for this exam. I started by with a specific goal to finish this exam with only taking a few short breaks, and I did just that. My measurable goal was being mindful of how long I was taking on each problem. The attainable goal I chose was to be confident in the content that I knew and be okay with getting questions wrong from past content not fresh in my mind. The relevant goal was how much this comprehensive exam simulated taking the NCLEX and to be in the mindset of taking the NCLEX while I took this practice exam. Lastly, I was time bound and took this exam in one sitting. I achieved my SMART goals for this practice exam. I will carry these goals into my next comprehensive assessment. I am also curious if I’ll remember more past content because I had some refreshers while taking this exam. For the next assessment, I will be confident and keep the mindset as if I am taking the NCLEX.
