Preparation for Licensure (ATI Comp Predictor Practice B)
For my second practice comprehensive assessment, I felt a lot more confident going into this practice exam and felt more confident while taking the exam. I really think the more practice problems the more I’m critically thinking and not just looking at the question as to what’s in front of me, but more the patient as a whole. I think changing my thinking to this mindset has greatly impacted my success on these exams and helped me achieve more. The more I practice, I know it can only add to my success. To help prepare for the proctored assessment, I’m going to retake the practice assessments. I can always improve on content. Prioritization questions seem to be stumping me the most, so I’m going to focus my attention more on those type of questions. I know that memory and learning take time and long hard work, so the repetitive assessments are going to be positively impacting my learning. I really enjoy doing these practice comprehensive assessments because it’s a nice refresher on content I’ve previously learned but also sharpen the content I already know and feel confident about.
When taking exams, I use SMART goals. These goals change for each exam based on the content and type of exam. For this practice comprehensive exam, I was specific in wanting to do better on this exam than I had in the previous one. My measurable goal was to complete each question in under a minute and a half which I did for many questions. My attainable goal was to master more content than I did for the previous exam. My relevant goal was to compare this exam to taking the proctored exam and the importance and similarity to taking the NCLEX. For my last goal, I was time bound because I didn’t take any breaks during this exam, and I was focused. I completed my SMART goals for this exam. As I reflect on my SMART goals, I will carry these goals I made to my proctored assessment. I will be confident, trust myself and my knowledge, and focus on the question and the patient as a whole. I will also be mindful of how long I am taking on each question. I know I can be successful on my proctored exam. Along with my SMART goals, I’ve put in the work, done lots of practice, and I know that will help me achieve more success.
